What should I know about my medication (risks, adverse effects, etc.)?

Many medications have side effects. It is important that you make yourself aware of the possible risks of your medications so that you can inform your physician if any adverse effects occur. An excellent Web site www.Medscape.com is a "drug info" source that will provide you with most of the pertinent information regarding any of your medications. Please click on the link provided above and type in your medication name to read the information. In general, your primary care physician is the best person to monitor your general health and prescribe all of your long-term medications. This will enable your primary physician to make any changes as dictated by your health or potential medication interactions.

How do I make an appointment?

Our doctors see patients at the three Memphis locations and at the Germantown office Monday through Friday. The staff will assist you in scheduling an appointment at the location most convenient to you. To schedule your appointment, please call our Appointment Line (901) 381-4MOG (4664) during regular business hours to make an appointment for any of our four locations.  The orthopaedic surgeons at Memphis Orthopaedic Group are available to care for the full spectrum of orthopaedic issues if needed. We do our best to minimize the time you need to wait before getting an appointment (most new patients can be accommodated within 48 hours if medically necessary). Please alert the staff if your problem is urgent.

How do I get a refill on my prescription?

Routine medication refills will only be given during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This policy is designed to prevent medical errors and to allow for proper documentation of prescriptions.  Requests submitted after 4 p.m. may not be filled until the following day.  To expedite your request, you may call or email your doctor/his assistant directly.  Calls and emails will be responded to within 24 hours.
